Student leaders – as well as leaders within the administration – from different campus organizations got a chance to eat lunch with Dr. Joel Perez and Ms. Lisa Sharon Harper. These students conversed with Dr. Perez and Ms. Harper in a more informal setting and heard presentations on how they can apply the speakers’ insights to their on-campus leadership. Participants then got a chance to engage the presenters in a Q&A period.

2:00-3:00 PMDr. Reed Mueller’s Community Psychology class has been studying how to effect social change, specifically in the realm of community intervention. Guest speakers Dr. Joel Perez and Ms. Lisa Sharon Harper addressed this class on themes ranging from the importance of inclusion of immigrants in higher education to the theological approach to immigration.
After two members of the Concordia University community share their personal stories of immigration, Ms. Lisa Sharon Harper will deliver the keynote address at G92 Portland’s main event. Ms. Harper will speak on the theme of “Immigration and Shalom” and discuss how we as Christians can interact with the issue of immigration to bring about lasting justice in our world. SEAC (upstairs in the Hagen Campus Center).
