Thank you for texting in to sign up for the “I Was a Stranger…” Challenge and for being a part of what God is doing through G92 throughout the country! If you were at Urbana and didn’t catch everything that was said, or if you weren’t able to attend our workshops at Urbana but wanted to do so, you can download the PowerPoint of our workshops here. A bit about the “I Was a Stranger” Challenge: this challenge is designed to ensure that, as Christians, Scripture is the primary influence that shapes our viewpoint on the controversial topic of immigration.  While most people are swayed primarily by things such as their political viewpoint, or their economic interests, we are called as Christians to look at all issues first and foremost through the lens of our faith.  Participating in the Challenge by reading one Scripture passage a day for forty days is an excellent way to allow God’s Word to speak to our hearts and minds on this issue. To participate in the challenge, please simply begin reading the passages provided to you on your bookmark.  If you don’t have an “I Was a Stranger…” bookmark, you can click here to download it.  You can do this challenge by yourself, or better yet, in groups.  You can participate in any combination of three ways.  You can: 1) Read the Scripture passages over the course of 40 days, praying and reflecting on them 2) Reach out to your church and get them to participate as a congregation 3) Reach out to legislators, inviting Christian legislators to participate in the challenge themselves and/or signing onto a letter that asks them to vote for immigration legislation that is consistent with our biblical values.  For more information about options 2 and 3, or if you are interested in mobilizing your campus to participate, please either email me back at dwatts@g92.org or click here to request an Organizer Toolkit. To stay connected with G92, please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!  We would also love for you to share any pages that you liked on the G92 website. Finally, we are always looking for guest blogs!  If you would like to submit a blog for consideration, please check out our guest blog guidelines then  send your piece over to blog@g92.org. Thanks so much for plugging into G92! Again, if there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at dwatts@g92.org.  I hope to hear from you soon, and to see you at a G92 event in your area! Blessings, Daniel Watts G92 Coordinator dwatts@g92.org
